Peter S. Chang, MD, MPH, CPE, FAAFP
President/Chief Executive Officer
Peter Chang, MD, is President and Chief Executive Officer of Grace Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center serving Battle Creek and the surrounding communities. A board-certified family physician, Dr. Chang has spent more than three decades at Grace Health, serving in both clinical and executive leadership roles and remaining deeply committed to expanding access to high-quality, patient-centered care.
Dr. Chang received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed the Executive Master’s Program in Health Management and Policy at the University of Michigan. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a Certified Physician Executive through the Certifying Commission in Medical Management. His additional clinical training includes acupuncture through the Academy of Pain Research.
Beyond Grace Health, Dr. Chang is actively involved in advancing community health centers and strengthening the health care safety net at the state and national levels. He serves as Board Chair of the Michigan Community Health Network and participates in the Michigan Primary Care Association (MPCA) Health Policy Committee, the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) Clinical Committee, and Health Center Excellence and Training. He is also involved in TCC leadership, Bearcat Health Partners, contributing his experience to the development of health center leaders and the continued advancement of community-based health care.
Dr. Chang’s leadership is grounded in Grace Health’s mission that all people have the right to quality health care and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. That commitment has shaped both his professional career and his service beyond Grace Health, including volunteering on medical mission trips to provide care to underserved communities. He remains focused on developing strong organizations, strengthening community partnerships, and ensuring that health centers continue to meet the evolving needs of the people and communities they serve.
